Hailing the Lion of Zion: Joseph “Culture” Hill
When I think of a true Rastamon I
will always remember Joseph. Your lion
heart did us well. Wi gained knowledge wisdom and
inspiration through your music. Your cool persona
on stage and off stage is truly commendable. The
love you gave us will live in our heart forever. You
have touched so many souls with your music. We give
thanx for the wonderful music you have provided us over
the years. Your
contribution to the reggae fraternity is truly outstanding
and rewarding.
Sadly, we missed your presence...
You have always gave us the best of your self. You
held on mighty strong to your Rastamon tradition. Also,
you sustained your musical art form in a rapid changing
world. Yet you were able to keep your music
pure and clean, and always preaching one love, and
singing freedom and justice for all. Indeed, “You
are a warrior, and you fought to the end.”
So
powerful were your style of reasoning, and yet so humble
and meek.. Like a shepherd you took great care of your
flock. Live on Joseph; live on, with the likes
of Marcus Garvey, Bob Marly, and Peter Tosh.
Wi give thanx for your outstanding contribution
to reggae music, and most of all to humanity. In point,
you are the Lion of Zion.
Selah!
